My First Hypnosis Experience Changed Everything

I used to joke that someone would have to hypnotize me to stop eating sweets. Turns out, I was right.

After years of trying different diets and relying on willpower, I felt disappointed in myself and embarrassed about my weight. Nothing seemed to work, and sweets were always on my mind. My Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and blood pressure were major concerns, and I knew it was time to take real action. This time, I was serious about changing my eating habits.

Finding a Natural Solution

I did an online search for a local hypnotherapist because I didn’t want to take more pills or stronger doses. I wanted something natural—something that might work with my mind instead of against it.

During the first session, I felt nervous at first, unsure of what to expect. But as the therapist’s voice guided me deeper, my body began to relax. My thoughts slowed down, and I felt calm and focused.

What Happened After the Session

After the session and the next day, something strange happened—it felt like my mind was about to start its usual loop of craving thoughts, deciding what I could make or eat… and then it just went blank. The thought was gone. Shut down.

That night, I had some bizarre nightmares. I did some research and learned that can be common when your mind is processing differently. Dreams are often a mix of memories and change taking place. My hypnotherapist later explained the same thing.

Since then, I’ve noticed something new: with less noise in my head about cravings and less energy spent fighting them, I feel calmer and more focused. I don’t know if that’s scientifically true, but that’s what I feel.

I also remember everything she said during the sessions—each suggestion tied to my goals, positive thinking, and healthier habits.

Three Sessions That Changed Everything

I was so surprised by how effective that first session was that I couldn’t stop talking about it. My family was just as amazed and wanted to try hypnosis too.

Encouraged, I signed up for three sessions:

  • Session 1: Stopping sweets and learning moderation. It worked immediately.

  • Session 2: Reinforcing those habits while inspiring me to cook more healthy meals at home. That one sparked motivation and confidence.

  • Session 3: Focused on exercise—walking, treadmill, weights, stretching. It didn’t “click” right away, but I still listen to the recording, trusting it may take hold later.

I have recordings from each session and play them a few times a week. The first two keep me grounded. They remind me how capable I am of real, lasting change.

Visible Results After One Month

It’s now been about a month since that first hypnosis session—and I’ve lost eight pounds. I haven’t had a single sweet thing since that very first day. The constant sugar cravings are gone. Instead, I’m focused on eating real food, listening to my body, and feeling more balanced overall.

My next goal is to start exercising regularly and keep building on these healthy habits. I know it’s a journey, but I finally feel like I’m on the right path.

A Shift in Mindset

Hypnosis didn’t just help me stop eating sweets—it changed how I see myself. It showed me that transformation starts in the mind, not in willpower or restriction.

The experience left such an impression that I decided to become certified as a hypnotist. I want to help other women, especially those in menopause or under pressure, find calm, control, and clarity from within.

The Power of the Mind

Not every session was perfect, but each one revealed something powerful: the subconscious mind listens. When we give it the right message, real change happens—gently, naturally, and often, unexpectedly.

If you’ve ever wondered whether hypnosis really works, I can tell you this: it did for me. And maybe it can for you, too.
