How Hypnosis Works and What to Expect

How Hypnosis Helps When You’re Carrying Too Much

For many women, stress and change don’t just live in the mind. They show up in the body through disrupted sleep, emotional reactivity, tension, cravings, or feeling constantly “on edge.”

Hypnosis helps calm the nervous system and quiet mental overload so the mind and body can work together again. In this focused, relaxed state, patterns that feel stuck often begin to shift more naturally without forcing change or pushing harder.

You remain aware and in control the entire time. The goal is not to fix you, but to help your system settle so clarity, steadiness, and relief can return.

What Happens First: The Free Intro Call

The first step is a free intro call. This is not a hypnosis session.

The purpose of this call is to:

  • Talk through what you’re experiencing

  • Clarify what you’d like help with

  • Answer your questions about hypnosis

  • Make sure working together feels like a good fit

  • A brief suggestibility exercise (for clients new to hypnosis) to demonstrate how hypnosis works and confirm your natural responsiveness

There’s no pressure and nothing you need to prepare. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out. Many women feel relief just having a calm, grounded conversation about what’s been weighing on them.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll talk about next steps and schedule your sessions.

Preparing for Your Hypnosis Sessions

All hypnosis sessions are held via secure video, so you can participate from your own space.

Before each session, you’ll want to:

  • Be in a private, quiet, and comfortable place

  • Recline or lie down where your body can fully relax

  • Have a stable internet connection

  • Keep your camera on so I can monitor you during the session

These simple setup steps help ensure you feel safe, supported, and fully present during the work.

What Happens During a Hypnosis Session

Each session typically lasts about 60 to 75 minutes and follows a gentle, structured flow.

At the beginning of the session, we briefly reconnect and recap your goal for that day. This helps set a clear intention and allows the session to stay focused on what matters most to you.

Once you’re settled and comfortable, I guide you into a relaxed, focused state using breathing, imagery, and progressive relaxation. I speak the entire time. Your only job is to listen, relax, and allow the process to unfold.

During the session, I work with:

  • Deep relaxation to calm the nervous system

  • The heart of the session, focused on your specific goals

  • Positive reinforcement and supportive suggestions

  • Future pacing, where you begin to imagine and experience change ahead of time

You are never unconscious or out of control. You can move, adjust, or speak if needed. Most people describe the experience as deeply calming and grounding.

At the end of the session, I gently guide you out of relaxation and back to full awareness.

After the Session: Integration and Support

After each session, we take a few minutes to talk about how the experience felt and answer any questions that come up.

You’ll then receive:

  • A recording of your hypnosis session

  • Simple guidance or reflection to support you during the week

There’s no pressure to “do it right.” Any between-session support is meant to gently reinforce the work and help changes settle naturally over time.

Why This Process Feels Different

Many women come to hypnosis already feeling overstimulated or worn down. Knowing what to expect ahead of time often helps the nervous system relax before the first session even begins.

This process is designed to feel:

  • Clear and predictable

  • Calm and supportive

  • Collaborative, not directive

  • Grounded in real life

You’re never rushed, pushed, or expected to change overnight.

Ready to Start With a Conversation?

If you’re feeling curious or ready to explore support, the first step is a simple intro call.

We’ll talk things through and see what feels right for you.
